LET'S START PRAYING AGAIN

The fieldwork in prayer: five senses, gifts of memory, imagination, intellectual capacity, experience, heredity and environment.

Our PRAYER must be our own. To achieve such an individual expression, we need experiment and choice.

Blind Imitation of methods used by other people may make prayer into an artificial posture, verging on hypocrisy.

Fieldwork is therefore indispensable if we are to find the methods suited to our spiritual needs.

In prayer, the only safe guage is the Living God.

PRAYER is the raising of the mind and the heart to God. Two vital faculties needed: the ability to think and the capacity to love.

All time is prayer time. Prayer time is 24/7.

The most absorbing work could not divert us from God.

Men may become holy through work.
"GOD, in all that is most living and incarnate in him, is not far from us, or apart from the world we see, touch, hear, smell and taste about us. Rather, He awaits us every instant, in our action, in the work of the moment. There is a sense in which He is at the tip of the pen, my spade, my brush, my needle - of my heart and of my thought. By pressing the stroke, the line or the stitch on which I am engaged to its ultimate natural finish, I shall lay hold of that last and toward which my innermost will tends." (Tielhard de Chardin, Milieu Divin)
