DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH
A diamond in the rough
is a diamond sure enough.
For, before it ever sparkled,
It was made of diamond stuff.
Of course, someone must find it
Or it will never be found;
And then, someone must grind it,
Or it will never be ground.
But when it is found
And when it is ground
And when it is burnished bright,
That diamond is everlasting,
Flashing out its radiant light.
O Christian, please, who ever you be,
Don't say you have done enough,
That worst man on the street may be,
A diamond in the rough.
